The main sources of documentation are represented by Internet repositories, international standards, and books. Each one of the three areas has been examined in depth and briefly summarized in the relevant section of this document. The coverage of terms, concepts and abstractions provided by these sources is, mostly sufficient for the specific use intended (e.g. product catalogues, or survey) but it is not up to the current state of the art and of the practice, and lacks integration and common terminology among the various fields. The main features of each source is examined, specific deficiencies of each source are presented , and specific steps are suggested that should be taken to define a general glossary of service robotics.
